Sadly, I think that if it was EClare in Kenna's position, things would be way more complicated and realistic. We have Clare's parents who probably wouldn't take to well, to it. Darcy probably wouldn't be kind about it, either, considering how she treated Mia. We have the fact that Clare wears a purity ring, so there could be some feelings of guilt, we have the fact that Clare is so dedicated to school and that people in the school see her as a "saint", Clare's own parents are divorced/getting a divorce, and then KC has his own problems. Hopefully Degrassi won't have anymore teen moms. I hope next season, they'll show how complicated it is to care for a baby, when you're still a baby yourself. I don't even think that Kenna really discussed what they'd do, much.

Oh, I think it’d definitely be handled more realistically if it was Eli and Clare instead of KC and Jenna, and for those exact reasons.

I hope so too.

I think the weirdest part about Jenna's pregnancy/being a teen mom---is that no one is against it. Like, even with Jiberty, they had problems. Liberty's parents were upset, so was JT's grandma. JT sold drugs so that he and Liberty could get an apartment, to support the baby and them. Mia had a hard time with the things that Nic said to her, an uninvolved father, and then there was Darcy who was against having a teen mom on the Spirit Squad. Jenna's pretty much had smooth sailing all around. Even though KC was against the baby and wanted Jenna to get an abortion, he was involved soon after. Their biggest issue has been argueing over basketball and a crib. Kenna just don't seem realistic, at all.

Exactly! That’s my biggest problem with the whole Kenna-baby storyline. They really haven’t had to struggle that much, and it’s like… they’re fifteen. Why the hell is everything so easy for them? It doesn’t make sense.

I agree with everything you said! It doesn't make sense to me either. I Just hope they give Kenna more trouble next season and not make the whole teen pregnancy seem easy. My mom was a teen mom and it was not easy for her.

I hope so too.

I agree with you about the teen marriage thing and I always thought it should be eclare but unfortunately I could see Degrassi doing that with Kenna since they already have a baby.

Yeah, probably… ugh. I don’t really care for Kenna. They’ve had some cute moments, but I’m not emotionally invested in them, so I’m kind of bitter that they’re the only pairing that’s still together. (Not counting Drew/Bianca or Dave/Sadie since they’ve only been together since In Too Deep.)

It just feels like everything is getting handed to them on a silver platter. I mean, initially, I thought this pregnancy storyline was going to be great — especially given KC’s first reaction, when he left her. Because THAT happens more often than not. But then they got back together and everything has been pretty smooth-sailing for them, and I feel like this isn’t being portrayed realistically. I’m not saying that there aren’t teenage guys out there who stay with their pregnant girlfriends and genuinely try to help out, but I mean… of ALL the pairings this could happen to, KENNA? KC, who left Clare because she wasn’t putting out — and let’s face it, that had A LOT to do with their break up, at least if you’ve watched the deleted scenes from season 9.

Like, okay, let’s say that Eli and Clare had gotten this storyline instead. For the sake of this example, Clare decided to have sex with him and got pregnant. Now, first off — it wouldn’t be all sunshine and rainbows. There would be a lot of struggles, especially given Eli’s demons and him not exactly being stable. So there would be that. While I have no doubt that he would stick by her and not be all like, “Just get an abortion or you’re on your own…” it wouldn’t be all smooth-sailing like it was for KC and Jenna (for the most part.) THEN we’d get Clare’s own problems — like regretting losing her virginity, her parents’ reactions, and so on. KC’s mom was a bit taken aback, but both she and Jenna’s brother have been pretty supportive…

I don’t know… it just seems like Kenna’s baby storyline is… not glamorized, but not realistic either. And it irks me that they probably will get hitched.

I mean, how is it that they manage to stay together, without having really changed at all, but the couples who have stuck it out through SO MUCH — like Dolly J, Savvy J, Eclare, and so on — crumble?

What the hell?

Ugh, anyway, now I’ve worked myself up too much… so I’m gonna shut up.

I have an early morning tomororw… le sigh.
