Remember when Jenna got baptized for Luke and then realized he was a douchenozzel but still wanted to be Becky’s friend, and Becky was all like, “That’s cool. But stay away from my brother.” But she said it in a really creepy and almost threatening tone?

Then not even a season later she was all like, “Date my bro! He’s totes changed!”

Jenna gets a really unfair rap in the fandom.

She did one thing wrong in season nine and people still hate her for it.

And yet, there are other characters who have done way more hurtful/damaging things more recently (and more frequently) and everyone excuses it! Jenna convinced a guy to break up with his girlfriend to be with her. Half the kids at Degrassi cheat. She’s never been a bully, or abusive, or unfairly judgemental of other people.

She’s one of the LEAST malicious characters on the show.

I will defend Jenna until the end of time. (Or untill she graduates at least!)

And yes, while openly flirting with KC and then dating him as soon as he broke up with Clare was a bitchy thing to do… that was back in season 9. Back when she was still a Niner. She’s going to be a Senior in season 13 and apart from that weird Sav crush during her pregnancy, she hasn’t pursued anyone else’s boyfriend. I feel as though she put her “boyfriend stealing” ways behind her as soon as she had Tyson — having a baby forced her to grow up and mature much quicker than a lot of other girls her age. And as a testament to her development, I ask you this: do you think season 9 Jenna would have ever given Connor a chance? Probably not. But season 12 Jenna did. Why? Because after enduring some crappy relationships with conventional “hunks” like KC and Luke (although this isn’t to say that KC didn’t have redeemable qualities because he did, but he also cheated on her with Marisol while she was at home trying to raise their kid) she’s realized that she deserves someone who will treat her well. I don’t think season 9 Jenna had that foresight.

Anyway, those are just my thoughts on the matter. :3

Yes, she “stole” KC from Clare (never mind the fact the KC was perfectly capable of making his own choices but I digress) back in season 9 and it was a bitchy thing to do.

But like… it’s been three seasons. Almost four. It’s in the past. Jenna’s not the same person she was back when she was first introduced. So can we please stop hating on her for a mistake she made three seasons ago?

This leaves Jenna. 

Maybe it’s because I missed the second half of season 8/all of season 9 (I was busy with school at the time — it was my last year of high school/first year of university and I had too much going on) so I stopped watching BEFORE KC and Clare got together, and never really got so invested in them that when Jenna came along and “stole” him, that I was affected in any way. 

And by the time I started watching the show again, I had seen the Shark in the Water promo so I was already intrigued by this possible romance between Clare and Eli. So when the Boiling Point was airing, I did get all caught up, and while I was certainly annoyed at Jenna for breaking the girl code and all that jazz, I didn’t HATE her. I was satisfied enough when Clare told her off for starting the boob job rumor, and when she had her… accident while taking the diet pills. So by the time her pregnancy storyline rolled around, I did sympathize with her. And throughout that whole arc — her struggling to deal with being pregnant, her trying to raise Tyson while KC was off making out with Marisol, their giving up Tyson for adoption — I’ve grown to like her.

I mean, I definitely understood WHY Clare would be mad at her for the whole Jake thing, but I still didn’t hate her then, and I’ve never demonized Jenna in any of my fanfics or made her out to be some horrible person who wants to make Clare miserable.

Anyway, enough of my rambling…  

KC: “I checked the bus schedule and if we leave school early, we can make it.”
Jenna: “Uh… sounds fun, but I told Jake we’d go to the mall.”
Jake: da fuq? When did I agree to that? 

Like in that one promo where we see her yelling at her? What if they actually get into a physical fight?
